Theodore M. Jones, J.D. L.L.M.

Theodore (Ted) Jones is a business and tax attorney who has served as General Counsel for the UCD companies since 2016. In addition to providing legal counsel to UCD and its related entities, Ted works closely with UCD, its partners and investors to achieve their mutual objectives in commercial real estate development, including partnership and entity formation, inbound international investment, capital gain strategies and like-kind exchanges, property acquisitions and sales, retail leasing and more.

Before joining UCD, Ted was in private practice with Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff and Miller, Prior to that, Ted was Vice President and General Counsel for a family office primarily engaged real estate investment.

Ted earned his BA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and went on to earn his law degree (J.D.) from Southern Methodist University. After practicing law for several years, Ted returned to SMU to earn his Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.). Ted is Board Certified in Tax Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  Ted is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and its Tax and Real Estate Sections, as well as the State Bar of Texas and its Tax and Real Estate Sections.
